A phone system you do not have to buy

A phone system ties your handsets into one whole: internal extensions, call transfer, voice menus and call records. With us you can take it as a service on our servers or install it on your own premises.

The choice

Two ways to do it

The difference is where the system physically sits and who maintains it.

As a service

vPBX — virtual phone system

The system runs on our servers and you connect handsets to it over the internet. There is no hardware to buy or maintain, and every branch and office joins the same internal network regardless of location. The usual choice for small and mid-sized companies.

Your own hardware

iPBX — a system on your premises

The unit sits with you and runs on your network. It does everything a traditional system does, plus VoIP, and it can stay connected to the local operator's network as a fallback if the internet goes down. For companies with many extensions that need to stay independent.

What the system does

  • Internal extensions and free calls between staff and locations
  • Voice menu with a choice of department
  • Call transfer, forwarding and hold
  • Voicemail, played back from the phone or sent by email
  • Call recording
  • A record of every incoming and outgoing call, with duration
  • Fax reception and an analogue port for a fax machine
  • Dialling from the address book on your computer
  • Connection to an existing traditional phone system
  • Remote administration and support from us

Three locations, one phone system, one internal directory. Calls between staff never touch the public network, which is why they are not billed.

Choosing the route a call takes

The system can pick the path for each call on its own. Least-cost routing sends the call by the cheapest available route, including a GSM gateway for calls to mobile networks.

Best-quality routing does the opposite — it picks the route with the cleanest connection, which matters when conversations with clients are part of what you sell.

A combination is common: quality for incoming client calls, cost for outgoing international ones.
