Telephony over the internet
Calls run over the internet connection you already pay for. There is no per-line subscription and no call setup fee, and billing is by the started minute.
Who it is for
VoipBON One is the package for private users and sole traders — one number, calls, SMS and a view of your spending through a web interface. You pay in advance by topping up the balance, so the cost is always under control.
VoipBON Office is the package for companies. Alongside calls it adds multiple users under a single account, monthly billing instead of top-ups, and the option to connect a phone system and your existing business applications.
How you actually call
Calls need no special line — just an internet connection and one of these:
- Softphone — an app on your computer or mobile. The quickest way to start; all you need is a headset with a microphone.
- IP phone — a desk handset that plugs into the network with a LAN cable. It behaves like an ordinary phone.
- ATA adapter — a small device that connects your existing analogue phone to the internet. The handset and the habit stay the same.
- Phone system — if you already have one, we connect it to our network and your calls run through us.
Porting your existing number
The number you have been giving clients for years does not have to change. We port it from your current operator to our network — we handle the process, you sign the request.
Once ported, the monthly subscription you were paying your operator falls away, and the number still rings in the same place. If you run several locations, they are linked into one internal network and calls between them stop being a cost.
SMS
Messages are sent from the same web interface you use to track calls — individually or to a group at once. Sending can be scheduled for an exact date and time, which is useful for appointment reminders and customer notifications.
To send from your own application, there is an SMS API.
Fax
Faxes are sent and received through the web interface, or arrive by email as a PDF attachment — no machine and no paper. The archive of sent and received messages stays on our servers.
Fax is a legacy service today. We keep it because parts of public administration, healthcare and the courts still ask for it, and we support it without restriction. If you use fax only because you always have, talk to us — you probably do not need it.
