Equipment and calling cards

VoIP does not need much hardware — often what you already own is enough. Here is what exists and when each option is worth it.

Devices

What to call with

IP phone

A desk handset that plugs into the network with a LAN cable. It works like an ordinary phone, and better models add a screen, a directory and multiple lines. The choice for desks where people are on the phone all day.

ATA adapter

A device that connects your existing analogue phone to the internet. The handset and the habit stay the same; only what sits behind the wall changes. Some models take more than one handset.

Softphone

An app on a computer or mobile, with no hardware at all. The fastest way to get going — for decent quality we recommend a headset with a microphone rather than the built-in speaker.

Prepaid calling cards

A card is a prepaid amount for calling from any landline or mobile phone, whoever your operator is. There is no device to buy and no app to set up.

It suits people who call abroad occasionally and want the cost capped in advance. Available as a prepaid service only.

Where to buy

We sell equipment through our own webshop, where current models and prices are listed. If you are not sure what fits your setup, get in touch before ordering — we configure the devices ourselves.
